Once upon a time, exercise terrified me. I mean, I might fall over and wound myself. Or get out of breath. It might hurt.
So I didn’t move much. For fun, I mostly read novels on the sofa. Which left me weak and more at risk of injury and back pain.
One day, one of my colleagues arranged a yoga class at work, and enthusiastically got the rest of us along. It was weird. And downward facing dog hurt a bit. But not so bad as I had feared.
And one thing led to another, and 20 years later…. I am now teaching yoga classes, have befriended my body, and am running a virtual yoga studio.
