Calming Garden Yoga

This week’s yoga-video experiment: INTO THE GARDEN!!!

As soon as you start to film outside it gets more complicated.  There’s wind!  There’s cockerels! There’s nettles! And barefoot yoga with nettles is “stimulating”.

I feel ALMOST GUILTY that I have access to a such wonderful garden space – not to mention BEACH WALKS – whilst so many people are in cities with limited access to nature.

But I’ve wanted to share some yoga in the glorious outside for a while. Yoga in nature feels different.

I’m hoping that one day – sometime before summer is over – THE RESTRICTIONS will be eased such that we can do outdoor yoga classes with some added social distancing.

As and when outdoor yoga happens, “All The Yogas” subscription people will have priority on booking spaces.  Want to get on the list?  You sign up here.

Of course we’ll also still be running 6+ virtual classes a week too.  We’ve committed to that until (at least) the end of August 2020.

But… if you’re not local, we’ll keep dropping the odd video onto YouTube:

Short session with Claire Mace. Join me in my garden for a few simple poses that will get you feeling grounded and calm. Can you hear some crows and my cockerel crowing in the background?!

This sequence is suitable for everyone though pregnant people might feel better lying on their side at the end. Listen to your body’s needs: do this practice in a way that feels good to you and give yourself permission to skip or modify anything that’s not appropriate for you.

With thanks to Forrest Yoga and Poppy Perinatal yoga.
