It’s a difficult time. Many are struggling.
Being in lockdown, there’s nowhere to run to from our own difficult emotions.
It’s easy to reach for the short-term fix.
The bottle of wine… the frozen dessert… the JustEat app (again)… binging on Netflix… or endless doom scrolling.
Actually all we have right now are small choices.
But small choices can be powerful.
Drinking more water.
Consuming less of the stuff that gives you a hangover.
Giving yourself permission to take time out and cry, or nap, or whatever your body calls for.
Know that many others are having a tough time. Talk to them about it.
And know that this will pass, the sun will come out, and we’ll at least be able to do some more expansive things outdoors, eventually.
Here’s a nice grounding yoga class for you or anyone for who might find it helpful (feel free to share it).
It’s an edited version of the yoga class I taught last Wednesday, all about connecting to the support of the Earth.
This class isn’t suitable for total beginners as I’m not demonstrating every single pose and there are hard abdominal exercises… it starts nice and slow and then leads onto a little flow.
If anything doesn’t feel right for you today, skip that pose and move onto the next one. Or message me if you want a recommendation on a simpler session.
