When I worked full time in an office, at this time of year I would obsessively plan my holidays.
Making the most of my 25 days (+ bank holidays) of freedom.
Now I’m self-employed I do that less: I have more freedom to take time off whenever I want, without negotiating it with a boss and colleagues.
But this year is a weird one: none of us know when and what travel is possible.
I don’t know if I’ll even make it to the Lake District this year.
Let alone any trips overseas.
I fantasise: maybe I’ll get to Bardsey Island… if I’m lucky…
Though right now I need a pretty good reason if I’m even to drive the 20-odd miles over to the other side of Ynys Môn and the bright lights of Bangor.
Becase, for now, and-who-knows-how-long, we are back in the lockdown zone.
But… well… we have local walks.
And the inner journey.
